With the type of incubator that you have, the more the temperature in the room fluctuates, the more the temperature in the incubator will fluctuate. In order to keep the incubator temperature more stable, keep the room temperature stable. Do not turn the room thermostat down at night and raise it in the morning. Set it for one comfortable temperature, cooler or warmer does not matter as long as you don't keep changing the thermostat.
Thanks! That makes sense! I don’t usually change it and it’s kept on the same temp but the problem is it just keeps feeling pretty cold in there so I kick it on but then shortly after it’s really hot so I turn it back “off” (not really off just back to what it was so it kicks off).
Right now it’s pretty comfortable at what it’s on but it’s so cold here I think it is making the room colder at night.
The problem is it seems like our heater is extreme and it’s either really cold or really hot with not much middle ground.
We don’t have central air or heat and the themostat doesn’t really have exact numbers in smaller numbers just big ones so I kinda gotta guess.
I think I might just leave it where it’s at and maybe it’s okay if it cools down somewhat at night?
The other problem is I usually sleep really cool I sometimes would prefer to just turn it off (though lately it’s been really cold so even I have it on haha) but if I sleep at my usual temp it’s not good for the incubator.
I'm thinking that her bator may do better in a room that isn't used, bathroom, with the door kept closed.
We use the bathroom a lot haha but we currently have a big table in the upstairs hall. I was thinking of putting it out there. It’s a little more stable cause there’s no heater or windows out there. The heat from the bathroom sometimes goes out there but it’d be a lot more stable and I wouldn’t have to obsess about room temp haha
The other option is my brother’s room but that’s freezing right now and it’s really bright. But I could turn the heat up a bit and leave it. No one ever goes in there.
The other option is my old room but that might be way too humid with the fish tank in there. Plus the fish like it cold so the heat’s off.
I think the hall might be best cause it’s pretty stable and I can’t mess with any thermostats haha but there’s no plug close to the table to I would need an extension cord which I don’t know is a great idea. But it’s stable.
Or the other room I could just avoid messing with the thermostat lol just set it to a specific temp and then it doesn’t matter if it’s comfy to me or not haha
Also the incubator has a Room Temp setting so I can set it to 65-70, 70-80, or 80-85. It’s at the lowest one right now but maybe I should change it.
