➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

There are diseases that can be passed from the parents into the egg causing the chick to be hatched either as a carrier of the disease or actually having the disease.

Wow I was really on a roll of being wrong last night.

That said though, I think I stated my original post wrong. I didn’t really mean they couldn’t get diseases but rather that it was highly unlikely from day old hatchery stock. I am sure it is possible though and probably much more likely with stock bought elsewhere. But FC was saying that it was possible/just as dangerous from other sources and I was just trying to point out that it was a lot less likely.

TSC nesting box (I'm going to get another one of these too) this is their favorite one! I went out there and this one had an egg not the new ones :lau

Maybe not though because you honestly don't know what's going on behind the scenes of these hatcheries.

The only person you can trust is yourself...

It's hard to know what anyone means through their writing. I try not to respond to things I think are negative or rude, but sometimes I have a hard time doing that :gig:oops:

Very true!! And I try to too hah not always great at but we both seem to be better at it lately :lau

I'm going to check to see if anyone has gone in them yet. I'll take a pic of what they look like

Okay sounds good.

@KDOGG331 I ordered flashlights yesterday and thought of you and was like "She could lend me one" :lau you and your flashlight collection :gig

:lau:gig:lau

They’re honestly more my parents. My mom finds/keeps all these junk/small ones and my dad bought these super powered ones on amazon last year lol

I hate having a million and want to get rid of tons :lau

I’d rather have one good one haha

But yes, we do have tons of them. :lau

The set I was gonna return I never got around to it and my mom opened it while we were gone cause she couldn’t find another one apparently :th

Those look awesome!! I need to try those or buckets for the next coop haha
Or maybe the TSC ones haha current one has built in ones but idk what I’m gonna do for new coop.

Hmm that’s true. Didn’t really think of that. But still, I feel like most hatcheries, at least the large/established/reputable ones, aren’t selling sick birds. They’d go out of business if they did cause no one would buy from them. I’m sure it does happen occasionally though.

Look at a place like Tyson... Very well known and what happens behind the scenes is quite disgusting. I'll never buy their chicken... EVER

Deciding on which cockerel to keep is going to be so impossible. :hit

On the plus side, I’m starting to think the EE may actually be a girl instead of a boy now so hopefully I’m right. :fl
I just asked the husband if I could get a flock of bantams and he told me that I could  Just as long as I sell the ones that we don't need... I have zero issues with that :D
