Yes his eye looks infected. His fur is matted and something is wrong with his legs. He's also underweight. I'm watching him now. Someone is coming to helo.

I worry that he may have RDHV2. If he does then it should be reported and so they can do more research. This disease is very deadly.

does it effect the meat....elk may have buried it already, but if still edible, i would’ve had it skinned and in the freezer

Exactly. And that is one of the many reasons why there is no single “best hatchery” to order from, because there are many individual considerations. (This is really not aimed at you btw. This forum just always has a bunch of threads asking where to order from and expecting a simple answer.)

Yeah that makes a lot of sense!! And people have had horror stories and amazing success from every hatchery! One person may absolutely hate one and vow never to order from them again and another may absolutely love that same one so it’s impossible to tell.

Doubtful. Hemorrhagic diseases kill extremely quickly. That thing has had problems for some time.
