I was a blood donor for years until I pointed out to the blood drive organizer that they really didn't want my rare blood. After she checked it out, she quit asking me to donate.yeah I had a bad experience around age 5 too but managed to overcome it and became blood donor and class pin cushion for both my hygiene class and dental class......somehow needles in the mouth seem to be way scarier to most peeps than even blood draws
That too, but the actual sticking of the needle hurts.yeah infection makes things worse.....in general, it’s not the needle that hurts because they are actually tiny....it’s the fact that the medication burns and expands a very small space in the tissue
yes there is a certain amount of discomfort with any puncture especially dependent on the type of tissue etcThat too, but the actual sticking of the needle hurts.
???? What's wrong with your blood? If it is rare I would think that would make them want it more.I was a blood donor for years until I pointed out to the blood drive organizer that they really didn't want my rare blood. After she checked it out, she quit asking me to donate.
Needles in the mouth used to terrify me so much that for many years I had dental work done without Novocaine.
I believe the person giving the shot makes a difference too.yes there is a certain amount of discomfort with any puncture especially dependent on the type of tissue etc
of course that’s one part of my job that I fully understand first hand as I can guarantee I’ve taken more than I will ever give to a single patient. I do find it funny however when I have a patient with tattoos and piercings that freaks out over local anesthetic![]()
they want my blood, but I no longer donate in general as I prefer it to be available in case a family member or friend is in need. but as a universal donor, mine is in high demand.I was a blood donor for years until I pointed out to the blood drive organizer that they really didn't want my rare blood. AB- is the rarest blood type in the U.S. They don't have much need for it because it is rare. They like to have the rare types available on call just in case it is needed. Whole blood has a limited shelf life.???? What's wrong with your blood? If it is rare I would think that would make them want it more.
I donated blood one time and then I got so ticked off because they would not stop calling and emailing me I finally pitched a fit and told them to take me off their list for good.
