I both love and hate the deer. They're beautiful and I love how trusting they are. I hate them for killing the trees that I planted and how careful I have to be planning my garden to keep them out of it.

I both love and hate the deer. They're beautiful and I love how trusting they are. I hate them for killing the trees that I planted and how careful I have to be planning my garden to keep them out of it.

When they started going after trees that had been planted 20 years ago, I fenced them out of my growing area. I used 2"x4"x6' welded wire for the perimeter fencing. It has worked very well.

I had them fenced out of the garden area right from the start. Now that fence does a pretty good job of keeping the turkeys out of the garden. The garden fence is 8' tall with poultry fencing at the bottom to keep the bunnies out.

This works really well for building your own gates.
