I candled my eggs today with a brighter flashlight and was finally able to see inside them better! At least one of the two eggs from my own chickens is developing at 10 days. At least 4/6 MF duccles are developing but they’re only at 3 days so I’m waiting a few more days before I throw any out. I can’t really see in the BCM eggs so I’m hopefully at least one or two of those develop. The attached picture I’m voting a no on developing, it’s at 12 days. It’s from one of our chickens here. What does everyone else think?

Yes that egg is definitely no, the only thing that is red in there is the yolk

There are no veins so it is not developing

If your not sure just post it on here or just save it. The eggs won’t explode in the incubator unless they are in the incubator way way past the due date
They’ll explode or be delicate to touch after day 15 due to the gas being built up in the egg. I had some egg šŸ’£ at day 15 and they were loud when exploding. I threw them into the woods and the sound made me jump 🤣

Only eggs I don’t candle until day 15 are quail eggs. They incubate for such a short time

They must of been older. A long time breeder I know a toy two said that it is fine to leave questionable eggs in the incubator till day 22. Just throw them out when they don’t hatch. I’ve had about 3-4 eggs that were questionable and they didn’t break when I took them out on day 22.

My eggs are never older... I put them in the bator fresh. I am a breeder and I do not suggest leaving eggs in that long if they are bad. But to each their own.

If you want to risk that with you incubator that is your decision. I prefer not to tell people to do that because I have seen incubators ruined because of it.
