You should have a thermometer in there. I think that you should cover the water from escaping that is why I said water bottles or soda bottles.

I am sorry that you are going through this.

You can also use those hand warming packs that hunters put in their pockets to warm their hands. You would find them in the hunting section at Walmart. They are called Hot Hands

I will have to remember the hot hands idea!

I'll make an quick update on the eggs, they are now safely tucked in their nice and toasty incubator I candled each one of them before placing them in there, and I'm happy to inform that only two looked a little weak! I am so relieved that this all worked out! I want these babies to hatch so bad🙏 :fl

How would I know if the temp was dropping? I can see if we can heat some water up, we made a emergency rush to Walmart and got some more charcoal for the grill I'll see if I can get some water heating in there, do you think I could maybe put some coffee mugs in there and put the hot water in the mugs? I have a tea kettle we can use to heat the water in, would the water maybe spike humidity and drown the babies? Or do you think they will be fine, or is that why I need to use bottles so I can keep the water from evaporating? Sorry for the questions we didnt think it would get this bad, but the power had been going on and off all morning since 5 and then around 8 it was completely gone...

Just in case this wasn't answered, for future reference. It's better to not open the incubator when there is a power outage because it will let whatever heat is built up in there out. Heating up jugs of water and placing them next to the incubator and putting a blanket over the incubator and jugs will help to keep the temp stable for longer. I would try to wrap the blanket around and still leave just the vent uncovered if possible so there's still fresh air.

Oops I wasn't on yesterday, did someone else answer the NR360 question? Lol
It's fine! We got it all worked out, a friend is letting us stay at his house and he has power so I moved all the eggs and the incubator to his place.

That's exactly what I did. I didnt know about the water bottles so when I heard about that and the Hot Hands, I got right to work trying heat my babies up. And apparently all of that helped they were kicking around in there when I candled last night before placing them in there, only two looked weak.
