yes i have hatched some before and i sold the lot as chicks.... now im kicking myself i didnt keep any!

Until I figured out a method I got my cardio workout everyday playing catch the quail, they have settled down nicely after we got rid of the extra boys.

I modified a rabbit hutch off of Craigslist, but now that I'm planning on keeping them I'm remodeling again.

That sounds like a good idea! im starting to scroll thru the coop pictures on here to get some ideas...... anyone willing to share pictures of their quail setups?

Broodie duck tried to kill me. Can’t believe how hard she can hit with her wings! Needless to say, I’m unable to candle to see how far along they are. She’s also nesting in sticker bushes. My guess is three or so weeks in.

I have been gifted two goose eggs for hatching. They will be a pilgrim or embden goslings. First time with these and guessing same temp and humidity as ducks?

I am now facing a problem I never thought I would face. After hatching out some Bielefelders, I now have 6 females and no males! Now I have to buy some more McMurray

I'm not the only one! I thought it was only me. Last hatch I opened the eggs and it was like lockdown killed them Although I didn't get them to the pipping, it's like day 20 does something to them (for me at any rate)

Mine have been the same way this summer....day 20 and DIS. A friend I buy eggs from said her and some of her other hatching friends are encountering the same problem (and they have never had that problem before). She just said to just add it to all things crazy in the year 2020.

I wish I had that problem! I have been cursed with roos! (First CCL hatch: 5 roos/2 pullets, Last BCM hatch: 5 roos/3 pullets, last CCL hatch 3 roos/no pullets....can't tell on the first deathlayers or any of my Isbar yet).

2 pips this morning - both from CCL eggs. I was really hoping the 3 deathlayer eggs had pips. The seller said deathlayer eggs were temperamental to ship and hatch.....I am finding that to be true! I only got 2 chicks out of 6 the first round, 0 out of 6 the second round, and then only 3 out of 8 made it to lockdown this time.
