Hiiiiii.... I’m here. I think I have a problem.

8 runner duck eggs in my incubator. They’re beautiful big blue eggs and I don’t have any blue egg layers in my flock so here’s hoping we get some girls!!

I’ve got to stop after this month because we will be at capacity until the chicks mature we know what Roos/drakes we will keep vs use for meat.

*repeats to self* I WILL NOT HATCH MORE EGGS UNTIL NEXT SPRING. I WILL NOT HATCH MORE EGGS UNTIL NEXT SPRING....... šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
Good luck with that one.:highfive:

My Skywalker eggs are at home resting on my desk as we speak!!!!:woot Hubby went to the post office for me and took them home. I’d put them in, but that’s just me. I put them in the upright Turner not plugged in for a a day then I plug it in.

Add another dozen BCMs to my August hatch list. I dropped 2 of my 5 moving them to the hatcher (day 16) doing all I can to keep them going until hatch. :he :hit I was hoping to get 2 pullets out of this hatch...but now that doesn't seem realistic with 2 injured eggs out of 5. The more I think about it though, I think those will be my biggest selling chicks, so I might need 4-5 total laying hens to meet demand. So I ordered another dozen.

I heard from an experienced Hatcher and egg shipper that you can start the incubating immediately so the eggs do not get any older. She recommended that all shipped eggs be incubated in vertical turners and do NOT turn the turner on for two days to let the air cell settle. I am trying this now.
