well today is meant to be hatch day for my 7 eggs in the bator.... I can hear cheeping and see rocking but no pips that i can see yet (in my quick look before I left for work)....

but....

Im wondering because I had a hiccup with the temp on about day 14 (think they got a litttle cool for a few hours) that they could hatch a little later...

Ok guys, I just gotta say... my ducks make cute babies xD this is the one that hatched while I was at work, right on time.

The next in line egg didn’t look right, should’ve been internally pipped and wasn’t and had a lot less movement, so I opened it up and explored and it had tried to internally/externally pip the wrong end, was unable to (it was all bruised around the spot) and wound up almost suffocating. Yay for being obsessive and checking eggs like a crazy person. xD lol. It’s not ready to come yet but at least it can breathe. Should’ve taken a pic but too much of a mad rush to find the head. Lol.

8/10 BCMs hatched! The 9th pipped but turned in its shell and died and the 10th is DIS.

Well, it is 2am and got up to check the bator. Today is hatch day.
Temp consistent 99deg, humidity 70-75%. All remains the same from yesterday for most part. Hard to determine if some more pips have occurred due to having bad vision combined with plastic see thru window that's a little wavy, not perfect like glass to see thru for fine details. Hard to see if any other tiny pips vs just surface egg imperfections. No wriggling noted.

Actual time would probably be more like around 5PM today as that is when eggs went into bator on day 0 and this is over 12 hours from now.

Will continue the wait for Buns in the Oven.

All 6 Silkies have hatched!!


I have a chick from the second lot and a few pips. I didnt devide the eggs this time and now kicking myself for it

3 Golden Phoenix's are in lock down and 4 gold silver cross Deathlayers with 4 days until lock down look great. That makes less than half of the shipped eggs making it so far. Fingers crossed for the 7 I have left.

5 possibly 6 pips. No egg wiggles. Some peeping heard.

The little duckling I helped last night wound up passing. it had a lot of fluid coming from its mouth so my guess is that I caught it too late and it aspirated before I opened up the shell for it.

I still have one more egg to go, it’s due Sunday. Both of these ducklings (provided this other one hatches) will be going to a new home. Although I kind of want to keep them, since my girl is sitting on more I can sell these 2 and wait for those to hatch instead. Lol. It looks like a lot of us had set eggs pretty close together this time around. Lol.

Looks like 5 out of 7 so far and the other 2 have pipped
