🐝💗Our Backyard Beekeeping Journey!💗🐝

You said did some treatment after dark which brought back a thought when we would move bees for pollination. We would work with Amber lighting to keep the bees in the box where the usual white light from truck lights would bring them out, why we ran parking lights. Has anyone else ever done this? We would get a few but not like the way with regular lights.
We talked about getting a yellow bulb, because the bees were all over the white light. I was wondering how well that would work. Definitely need one on days when we are running late.

I would imagine a red light would work very well.

Shine a white light on a worm and it wiggles away very quickly. Use a red light and it continues with what it is doing without reacting to the light.

That's a great idea. I used a red light when I had my Saltwater fish tank. It was so much fun to see all of the life on the rocks after dark. I didn't think to use that for the bees.

That's a good idea too.
We have the red light for the chicks, but that's very hot. Still it would work in a pinch. I think I'll try to find a red led bulb.
Thank you for the suggestion.
Red light bulbs should be readily available at local stores such as Lowes, Home Depot, Menard's, etc.

They are readily available available on Amazon.

They are also available as spotlights and flashlights.

Thank you, I figured I wouldn't have any trouble finding one. I actually have an led bulb that has different colors in it, but it's not very bright. It's amazing what you can find nowadays.
