F Hocus Pocus is on Disney+
The 1st is better, but older. If you want a more modern one, the 2nd will be more up your alley. You can tell how big the age difference is in the two just by the main character's looks and if they're considered a child or not

So 2 doesn't pick up from where it left off? It's basically just a redo?
Kinda? Like the 1st one is acknowledged as history and stories, but it's like 30 years later, so it's a new kid and friend against the witches since they're brought back to life. Much, much more modern.

But because teenagers nowadays are seen as children where they weren't really during the 1st one, that changes too. So the guy from the first one wasn't considered a child by the witches, just his little sister, in the 2nd, the main gal is considered a child despite there being maybe a year or two difference in their ages

There's a lot more of the sisters' backstory explained too in the 2nd one. That was probably my favorite honestly.

Overall, I'd sum it up:
1: Wins because of nostalgia and the cat, but it's an older movie so there's a cringe/cheesy factor to be held.
2: More enjoyable personally, better information, but the Nostalgia just isn't there. It's also a bit cheesy, but because of the characters, not the period it was filmed in. Plus the child witches are adorable

Glad to see someone else with a good knowledge of hocus pocus 😅
I have to have good knowledge of it. It's one of my favorite live action movies without Brad Pitt, Mamoa, Tom Cruise, Timothy Chalmette or Nicolas Hoult
