Oh ok. Now I understand. Thank you for the clarification. You are correct what Tookie was saying is that the way you spelled Ameraucana is the same thing as Easter eggers but Ameraucanas are a purebred and easter eggers are mixes. Some farm stores will commonly spell Ameraucana incorrectly and sell Easter eggers but pass them off as "Americana"
No problemOh ok. Now I understand. Thank you for the clarification.
Made me want more Easter Eggers just looking at yours! Adoreable! What a wonderful post!
EEs are awesome!!
Love all of your photos!!!
I had birds in my life since childhood but was new to chickens 2015. I started with 2 Barred Rocks & 2 Red Stars. I got "Chicken-itis" bad!I had to have more!!
I added Wyandottes, Buff Orpingtons, Comets, Marans, RIRs & some cuties that I was told were Ameracaunas. I learned on this site, they're actually EEs & I absolutely adore them!
Sweet personalities & beautiful blue eggs!
I've since added more, letting some hatch, & recently some "mixed" that are young, haven't laid yet so it'll be a fun surprise to see egg colors.
So here are a few pics of my 1st EEs & some of their chicks.
I'll try to get picks tonight. I've got a trio of little gals that (hopefully) will be laying colored eggs soon.
I've got:
Finch, a gold with a bit of blue
Hawk, with the classic brown and bronzing
Peregrine, who looks like Hawk, but grey and silver instead of black and bronze
I love the brightly colored ones!!!What a wonderful post!
