A list of my favorites and why I like them.

Favorite series:

1. The Lunar Chronicles
I read this back in 2019, but the plot is similar to what has happened this past year, but much worse.
It is set way in the future where there are cyborgs, anroids, and very advanced technology.
There is a deadly virus that has plagued the earth for over 10 years. Anyone who gets it is sure to die. And the moon has been colonized and soon became it's own sort of country. If you've read/watched the hungar games series the aristocratic people of the capital are very similar to the people of Luna. The queen on Luna is also evil :)
Cinder, a cyborg, is the ✨main character ✨ and her story is very similar to Cinderellas.
Each book in the series is based off fairytales.
If I continue typing I might spoil it, but it has a great story. I love all the characters and their personalities.
I could not put this book down once I started. The first few paragraphs and I was hooked.

2. Percy Jackson
This was one of my first longer series of books which I really enjoyed. I've read it many times since then.
It's about a boy, twelve year old Percy Jackson, that finds out he is a demigod. Odd things had happened to him his whole life. He finds Camp Half Blood and soon finds himself on a quest across America with his friends Grover and Annabeth. He has to fight monsters from Greek mythology along the way.

I love that you get to learn about Greek mythology along with Percy since he knows little about everything that is happening as well. And seeing (reading?) as Percy and Annabeths relationship grows stronger. This is a series I could read over and over again and not get bored.

3. Divergent
I'm still reading this one. I am currently half way finished the first book, and it's already easily a favorite.
I probably won't be very good at describing it, but I'll try.

In this world there are 6 factions. In each faction the people have very different values and beliefs. The main character, Beatrice (later goes by Tris) is from Abnegation (selfless), Erudite (intellectual), Dauntless (brave), Candor (honest), and Amity (peaceful).
At 16 she has to choose between staying in her faction or a new one.
I feel like I'm going to spoil it, so y'all can Google it :)

I stayed up until 4am reading this.

Favorite book:

1. Heartless
This book waa written by the same author as the Lunar Chronicles.
I don't know if it was just me, but this book seemed to play with my emotions.
This is probably my number one favorite. I feel like my description won't do it justice and I'm tired of writing descriptions so here's one from the Google
Heartless, by Marissa Meyer, is the imagined back story of Lewis Carroll's character the Queen of Hearts from his novel Alice in Wonderland. The story follows Catherine as a young woman who falls in love with the King's new joker.

I deleted the end part because I feel like it kinda spoils. Idk.

Some books I would like to read after watching the movies (not in oder):

1. Maze Runner
I watched the movies not long ago and they were pretty good, so I suspect the books will be even better. I did not expect there to be so many zombies though lol.

2. The Hunger Games
Probably my favorite movie series.
Tired of writing so here's wikipedia's description
The Hunger Games is a series of young adult dystopian novels written by the American author Suzanne Collins. The series is set in the Hunger Games universe, with the first three novels being a trilogy following teenage protagonist, Katniss Everdeen

Shizzle sticks, I was going to add another but now I've forgotten :)
Heartless was so interesting! I love that book; totally recommend it!:thumbsup

Some books I enjoyed:
- Salt to the Sea
- Between Shades of Grey
- Sarah's Key
(Big fan of historical fiction!)

Currently, I am dipping my toes into the fantasy genre and reading the Inheritance Cycle tetralogy.

I haven't read any of those!!

Perhaps I'll read the prequel next then.
haha. I already forgot the ending of the series. It's been a while since I last read it! :lau
Whenever that happens I like to read it through again lol

however, you could probably read the prequel as a standalone, but I'd reread the series because you make all of these great connections and those are sO good with it
