Trail rider here at first then English then Dressage. moved on to Driving and was hooked... No pun intended.

Even drove trail with my half Arab Half Standardbred. He could turn that cart around on one wheel on the side of a mountain... after the road ran out.

Barrel racer here! We had an active local saddle club with a number of games people. It was so much fun! Saddle club still there but it’s all hunter/jumper and dressage now. The demographics changed!
did a lot of gymkhana here Barrel Pole bending pickup and ride... Egg on Spoon race... just plain old fun.

One time I got to ride a real gaming horse Her name was Playmate. Went to do the single pole and her leap to start set me behind the saddle. Took me the distance to the pole to get back in the seat.... :gig

Only organizations I ever blonged to were Equestrian trails. which held organized trail rides as well as brought in lecturers on Educating us Kids. The other was Desert Arabin Horse Association.

That was really fun, wasn’t it? My Dad was a hunter so he did a lot of horse packing. So many things are so different now. The best horse we had was a big draft cross, likely Percheron. For her size she could really move. Won a lot of ribbons gaming. Then she packed in the mountains during hunting season where she was a star. :) She knew to leave room for the pack boxes when she passed trees on the trail right from the start.

Good ones are worth their weight in gold. Katee has done barrels at the Draft Horse and Mule show... She can do a roll back like a quarter horse too. Al beit in Drafthorse MO....

I always thought using her for Penning would be fun. You know the ones that go out and round the cows back up and clear the decks for the next competitors. I dont think she could do the team part I know I certainly couldnt...

Dont get me wrong I love going fast. Boarded at a place that had a half mile track around the boarding facilities. What a hoot that was. But I was 25 then and still immortal... :gig
