Yeah, i decided i needed to make to hole bigger too, forgot to add that on my to-do list.
I do have an extra cinderblock around here some where......hmmm..........

My opinion, give them a ramp, doesn't have to be fancy. My coop is about the same distance up and I gave them one. The only time they don't use it is to fly out when I open it in the morning. Some walk down, others are in such a hurry, they fly out. Going in, once in a while one will jump, but mostly they walk up the ramp. If there was a ledge for them to walk around on the same height as the opening, then you wouldn't need the ramp. They would jump up on the platform and walk in and out.

Maybe not a ramp, but at least a step. A 6" cement block just might be the ticket. I'd make the door a bit larger as well. Love the green!

I had the same just one foot but what I did was just put a step. I got a cement plate you could call it and use it and it works great!

I vote no ramp, but a bigger entrance. My door is 4 ft off the ground and my chickens jump 2 ft up the ramp, so you can save yourself the time and hassle of building a ramp. Let us know what you decided!
