1 week old chicks

Hi folks

I have 25, 1week old leghorn chicks.My coop can get up to 105 degrees.Is that too hot

Yes, that is too hot. For the first week, it should be no hotter than 90 to 95 degrees, then drop it 5 degrees per week.

Too much heat can kill the chicks. I would prefer them to be a little cool than too hot.

Does your coop have a run? Is there a protected place that would be cooler that they can have access to? 105 is pretty hot for them to be cooped up in with no way to get anywhere cooler.
