Glad you responded @Phatom I was thinking Wood duck too. Will they eat duck starter okay?
Wow, they do look like Wood ducks! They don't have the yellow breasts like Mallard or Muscovy. <but I'm a duck newbie>

Probably 4” of lukewarm water would be good. Just watch them for water logging.Starter mash is a great suggestion. Thanks! They are eating the finely smashed hard boiled egg and mealy worm, and I'm happy to see them finally eat.
What about that getting into water for swim (this time they just got their feet wet, splashed, and drank)?

I just do 1x a dayHow often? Once a day? Twice? They seemed to have quieted down a little after their splish-splash this morning.
Did this person advise all involved that....One of the rescuers is our town's wildlife/animal person (not sure of exact title). She also works full-time at a shelter and part-time at a turtle rescue.
Did this person advise all involved that....
"Wood ducks are protected by The Migratory Bird Treaty Act that makes it illegal for anyone to take, possess, purchase, import, export, transport, sell, purchase, barter, or offer for sale, purchase, or barter any migratory bird, or the parts, nests, or eggs of such a bird except under the terms of a valid permit issued pursuant to federal regulations.
