10 day old silkie chick help

If you can, get a scale that weighs in grams *or* pounds. Weighing in grams makes calculating doses soooooooooo much easier. On the box it should say something like weighs 1 to 5000 grams.

Mine can weigh chicks even smaller than this:

Or bigger ones like this:

Best place to get one? I'm in a pretty rural area so the closest stores are going to be Wal-mart or about 45 minutes out I have access to home depot/lowes.

I got the scale. It is a Taylor stainless steel food scale.

I have the chick boost in their water.

I got but have not yet given: Poly-Vi-Sol without iron, Nutri-Drench and Rooster Booster Poultry Cell. I have a syringe that is .5 mL - 3 mL and what ever the droppers read from the Nurtri-Drench and vitamins.

Weights:
Blue - 81 grams (twitchy one)
Green - 79 grams
Pink - 68 grams
White - 80 grams

You can give the nutri-drench directly into the beak, 1ml/ cc per 3lb of bird. Then just add to the water, the dosage is here. If it is the early stages of wryneck, the thiamine is in there too.

If one ml is for 3 pounds (1360 grams), then 0.1ml will treat 136 grams, 0.05ml will treat 68 grams. There's about 0.05ml in a drop from a small syringe, so I would feel pretty comfortable giving one drop to the small one and two drops to the larger ones. Still have more math to do, but have to run more errands... Sigh.

Forgot to say that the dropper that comes with the Nutri Drench makes *huge* drops, so use your syringe, not the dropper.
