10wk old lavender Araucana are they boys or girls? Please help

Did your chicks hatch normally on day 21-22 or were they early?

If this was your first time incubating and hatching, you could inspect the feet of all these chicks, as sometimes with too high temperatures the chicks can result with crooked toes. this would then be caused by incorrect incubating and not be hereditary.
Yes they hatched on time well started to late afternoon on day 21 but it was day 22 late in the night when my last one hatched

Then you'll have lots of choices when deciding which one to keep for breeding :)
It's hard when you have to choose between males that have different good traits--with that many, maybe one will be good all over.
Yes this is true. I would like 10 girls for eggs and 2 or 3 boys for protection and company for my girls and hopefully every now and then I get a broody to keep my little feathered family going:love:jumpy

I think you possibly only have 2 Australorp boys instead of 3 but I would wait and see. The two in the front definitely are but the one in the back is still pretty pale. Sometimes females can have large combs to, I had a Barred Rock that had a huge one, so it might not be a boy. That SLW definitely is too though. 😭

So sorry for your luck! And I feel your pain! I hatched for the first time last fall and I ended up with 8 cockerels out of 9 chicks!! :th I gave for away, lost 2 to predators, kept 2 and the girl but ended up losing the girl and one rooster innthe spring and then later the other in July 😭 but I did get to hatch some chicks from the other rooster though. They are entirely from my own flock. 😁 I had a hen go broody so I let her hatch even though I hadn’t planned on it LOL now I’m glad I did because he passed two weeks after they hatched. 😭 they’re 5 months old now. 2 boys and 2 girls. Then I got lucky with some chicks I ordered in April. 5 of which were straight run (unsexed) and I only got one boy!! I was so nervous after my first hatching experience. :lau ended up with a lot of boys in my quail hatch though. 😭

Oh thank you for giving me just a little hope... I do wonder because she doesn't act quite the same but only time will tell now I guess.
I am swapping 4 boys yoday for 12 day old chicks of mixed parentage so jopefully some girls in there but I fear I am going to end up in the same position again in a few weeks. I have loved watching them grow though

Oh wow you did get off to a bad start too... Im so happy to hear things turned around for you in the end. It's hard because they are so easy to become attached to hey. I never seen it coming the love I have for them lol I just wanted fresh eggs but I am fast becoming addicted to their quirky little personalities

First batches always seem to be bad luck. My first batch I got 7/8 cockerels.
