11 wild turkey eggs.....

First of all, kudos to you, patyrdz, for at least taking them in. I had no idea it was illegal to take turkeys "under your wing"!

Yep, bad to romove them, worse to keep them, even worse to release them back into the wild. That here in Ohio, and most States.

To get a permit here you have to get eggs or poults from someone with a permit.

We hold the required state wildlife rehab permit. We also have a federal permit.

I think I will enjoy it. I know it will not be easy, but well worht the effort! There was a baby deer standing on the side of the road last year, I would have loved to foster it! We got it help, but I wanted to help it!LOL:hit

Deer fawns, unless you see the dead mother, are fine the mother will not bed down near them, Newborn fawn have no scent, so she will stay away from their bed, so not to leave her scent.

Buck fawns , should never be bottle fed. Have known people killed by bottle fed bucks during the rut.

Yes it is so sad how many fawns are stolen from their mothers each year.

People who rehab fawns have set ups designed so that the fawns do not see them and never learn to imprint on people. Just for that reason.
Any animals released back into the wild that have been inprinted is a danger. That is why training is required to be a rehabor

Thank you! Sometimes it is very hard to make people understand that wildlife are not pets!
