my quail eggs went into lockdown this evening....one looked to be an early quitter, but other 7 looked good. no draw down yet...so hopefully will hatch right on time

Cute little poults, what variety is that? I'm new to turkeys so I'm new to all the different colorings. What variety chicks too?

DD is going for solid black heritage turkeys and black Nn for fair. Her breeder turkeys are carrying a few extra possible colors there are barred black, bronze, chocolate and barred chocolate and she is hoping some solid blacks. Next batch I am hoping to see some slates from my other breeding pen.
The 2 chickies are out of her breeding pen that is set up to hopeful be black Nn. One came out fully feathered the other a very nice necked neck. She has set every egg from that breeding pen for the past month. We are hoping for more Nn this next weekend!

yes but considering my last round of babies have been buttons and zebra finches, these guys will probably seem huge! right now as my thermometer decided to go nuts on me right here at lockdown i think it’s fine as it’s just been reading a little on the low side.....
on a good note, baby finch left the nest last night to play with the buttons! i will try to get pictures tonight hopefully....i have to have to clean their cage!
