I have shelf liner in the incubator and a cardboard box with wood shavings in it to transport them to the sheep tank in the shop bathroom that I use for a brooder that also has wood shavings in it. This was just a "quick, what can I find to put the chicks in to take them outside to better lighting to snap a quick picture and then take them right back" plastic container. They were not in there for more than 5 minutes.

I wouldn't dream of leaving them in such a slick container for a long period of time.
