I will have 12 +Lavender split Ameraucana hatching eggs. I have two Lavender roosters from John Blehm in with black Ameraucana hens. The chicks will be Lavender splits. When you breed the splits together, you will get some lavenders. I will try to add extras if I have them. I have had great fertility here, but I can not guarantee your hatch rate due to shipping and/or incubation methods. I accept paypal. These will be sipped Monday.

Pick ups are more than welcome. Please let me know if I can answer any questions.

I know nothing about splits. Will any of the chicks hatch out visually lavender or will I need to breed them back to each other?

They visually will look black. When you mate them together, that's when you'll get the lavender 50%. I believe the other 50% blacks would be carrying the lavender gene, but again be visually black.

Actually split to split should be 25% Lavender 50% Split and 25% Black. You won't be able to tell the splits from the blacks though (they are visually the same).

Such pretty birds!

FLF, thank you for your knowledge. I was told by a big lavender breeder that I would get 50% lavenders when I breed the splits together. I haven't got to breed any splits together yet.

Hmmm, but are we still in agreement that non of these chicks will visually lavender? I will still need to breed these chicks back to get a visually lav roo that I need?

All the chicks hatched from the eggs will carry the lavender gene but they all will be black. If you breed them to a lavender, you will get 50% Lavenders.

LOL, I know, I had to do the Punnet square to make sure I wasn't boogered up. I dug out an old email from John Blehm to make sure I had it right

Once I have some room in my incubator, I'm going to be getting some of your eggs

Here's a chart:

Lavender x Black = 100% Split
Lavender x Split= 50% Split, 50% Lavender
Lavender x Lavender= 100% Lavender
Split x Split= 25% Lavender, 50% Split, 25% Black
