12th Annual 2021 BYC New Year's Day Hatch-Along!

Pics
My Christmas chicks are hatching. According to E, we must name the first one "Christmas" and since I can't ever remember individual bird names, this whole hatch will have to be named for holidays.
New Year Chicken
MLK chicken
President's Chicken
Valentine's Chicken
St. Patrick's chicken (hasn't hatched yet, maybe it'll lay green eggs!)
...
Nice!

Do you have pictures to post?

Blurry incubator shots... haven't put them in the brooder yet because there are still pips and such. This is "Christmas" (SFH).

We started Coturnix quail this last summer. They've done well, and they don't make the incubator stinky when they hatch like chickens do!
I think quail eggs (really, any small egg) ship much better than the larger eggs.

i’ve had relatively good luck with all types of shipped eggs....i don’t think it’s size of the egg as much as the care and experience of the shipper. my worst experiences have been with button eggs. they have had saddled air cells every time.
