Sadly we think the first chick has something wrong with its left foot, could anyone identify the problem? Need all the help you can give us! Pictures below:

If the chick just hatched it may work it out on its own. Sometimes while they're still floppy and wet toes can still look crooked. If there is still an issue once it's ready to come out of the incubator we can revisit this and look into what may be causing it and how to fix it if necessary. Is it just the toes? Is the leg shooting out to the side as well?

We have another pip -- *edit* on the wrong side of the egg... should we assist? Again, any information you can give is welcome!

No need to do anything yet. :) Most of the chicks that I have pip in the pointed end of the egg hatch without any intervention at all. When they're upsidedown in the egg they're actually making both the internal pip and external pip in one go because there isn't an air cell in the bottom so expect this chick to take twice as long to start zipping than the others.

I have liner but didn’t know til you said this. Should I take out the turning rack now? And put liner on the grate at this point (peeps and pips but no zips)

or leave it alone???

Manual doesn’t say to remove turning carousel thingy?
Edited to add, running a new Nurture Right 360 that stopped turning 3 days before scheduled hatch ( tomorrow)

I am Running 2 NR360s 1 for the incubating and 1 for hatching that is set up with the liner and turner, when I have more than half full I leave the turner in. If it's only a few eggs I remove the turner.
It's normal for the NR360 to stop turning 3 days before hatch day, so the chicks can get in to position for the hatching phase.

Ok, thanks. I don't think there is anything unusual with the leg. I think it's just a problem with the foot.

Thanks. 😌 I hope that the chick will be able to hatch out without help -- to be honest, we've never assisted, we've only watched a thousand videos and read a thousand articles. The chick doesn't seem to have made any progress, but the latest hatcher waited a couple hours after pipping before hatching, so I'm not too concerned.
