Welcome to the 12th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along​

It's that time again! Every year, many members come together to set eggs to hatch on the exact same day - the day BEFORE Easter. As a group last year we had 3173 eggs set for hatching! If you are new to hatching, this is a great way to get a lot of help, tips, and advice. Join in the fun for the largest BYC Hatch-Along of the year!

Set Chicken eggs on Saturday, March 13th at Noon (whatever time zone you are in). Other poultry breed setting dates listed in the table below:

My cockerels are the real vacuums LOL now that we put one down last month it’s a little better but still. my bantam actually isn’t that bad, that whole crew eats like nothing , but my huge MOOSE of a standard and his brother (the one I put down)..... OH. MY. GAWD. their father too actually but I lost him last year. But gosh. They eat so much big, growing boys I guess ?

Yeppers! Try feeding a flock of 24 standard layers, 24 breeders, 16 Muscovy and a goose. I show up and start dispensing TMC whole seed. After an hour they’re less frantic and eat more slowly. Then they get the Fermented Flockraiser which helps a lot!

Is anyone setting any Muscovy eggs?

When I find em (somewhere on 5 acres). My broody ducks Ricky and Lucy from last year have some ‘splaining to do

Yeppers! Try feeding a flock of 24 standard layers, 24 breeders, 16 Muscovy and a goose. I show up and start dispensing TMC whole seed. After an hour they’re less frantic and eat more slowly. Then they get the Fermented Flockraiser which helps a lot!

Oh gosh I bet they eat a lot hahah I have 4 bantams and 3 that are basically bantam not much bigger haha and 7 quail. So thankfully the little ones don’t eat that much and no bigger poultry thankfully

But the boys and some of my standard girls eat tons lol my Delaware is a pig
