So I reported my 35 egg addition before it was final and wouldn't you know the clumsy is me decides to show it's antics. I knew you can't count your chicks before they hatch. Who new you couldn't even count your eggs before you set them??

That double stack egg thing to make more space wasn't coming together with the incu turner I have running.. eggs were rolling every which way in that side turning tray.. but in my mind I visualized a perfect double stack hot dog roller like at 7-11, Pilot, etc.. and everything was functioning JUST perfectly, the eggs were all rolling uniformly and getting along!

Luckily I did remember to set the next half of the eggs and none actually bit the dust!

With the other eggs already in there.. I counted 56 total!

I did need to unplug the automated turner and will start depending on these worthy appendages called hands to turn the single stack layer of eggs.. yay, hands on fun! (I got my best hatch rates ever HAND turning.)

I am so proud of you.

Long story short, I once surprised my mother while she was doing her hair. She grabbed the aerosol deodorant instead of hairspray.

Ah yes.. I too have worn spray deodorant in my hair.. when leaving the day spa that had all the product available for use.

candle it to see if there are cracks. If not, It is ok to set.

I collected 25 eggs for a 22-egg incubator. I will candle for cracks and wash them

I just set the eggs, and now I am wondering if we should set one more, the blue one in the picture. It is really small though. Although we only have one blue egg to set today.

Always set the blue egg. This gene is dominant over white shell and if you like the resulting cockerel, you will know he *might carry* the blue egg gene.

I set my eggs last night,....... wondering what I'll do if they all hatch.

This morning, I noticed a little serama flattened in the nest box, doing the broody growl.


Great timing! If she follows through and stays broody, she'll adopt my batch of incubator chicks!

This pic was from last year when a little serama went broody and adopted 20 orpington chicks.

Lol, No, just table top bators. A couple NR360s and an IncuView. I was sooo close to picking up another NR360 this afternoon but 2 of the shipped eggs were cracked so rather than repairing them and buying another incubator to out them in, I took it as a sign that I have enough eggs incubating.
