-13 degrees and 35 MPH wind! Hows everyone doing?

For the people that don't even hit freezing :tongueezing It's a family forum so I can't write the first thought that went through my mind.
We had 52 degrees yesterday, then the storm hit, temps dropped like a rock and heavy snow. Went to below freezing and total white out in less than 15 minutes.

Yesterday I was working with a woman from from Wyoming (I'm from Alaska). All the native Western Washingtonians were complaining about how cold it was here, 30-40 and a little rain. Edith and I were laughing and teasing that they don't know what cold really is. Winter hit last night snow, wind, about 20 this morning. Still not as cold as a lot of you, but this is cold for the Seattle area. I guess I'll get to watch what the pullets think about snow. Feeling sorry for the stray cats in my backyard, they're all begging at the back door. (Won't come inside) I'm surprised work hasn't called for help. And really wishing I'd remembered to stop at the store for cat food on the way home last night. I guess I'll be braving the frozen outdoors today. 2 days ago the dahlias and fuschias were still blooming. Starting the countdown to spring.

almost thought you were in ND. Its nasty here today. The wind is blowing at least 40mph, its snowing and I can barely see the barn. The chickens arent getting 'fresh' air today

Well good morning from Montana! Its 21 below zero now that the sun is up. Thats is without the wind chill! The girls don't want any part of that! They are all cozy and warm. I just took them their oatmeal and scratch to keep them busy. Also took fresh water as it is well...froze!~! DH tractor trailer was froze up this morning, took 2 hours or better to get out of the driveway. He was not very happy to start his day like that. We had a white out yesterday, most of the day so he was unable to work(drive truck). Colder today but visisbility is better. Have a great day everyone and stay warm!!! To those with 50 degree temps or higher

My hubby opened the chickens up this morning, I don't see them - they might be in the horse barn (their favorite place when its cold) I did see a couple of ducks out this morning and two guinea's were out for a bit but right by the door.

I have to go check their water in a few

I guess we all sort of adapt. When I visited Aruba, I couldn't even move I was so hot. I had on shorts and tank tops the whole time. The people that grew up on the island wore pants and kept asking me why I was so hot
