13 week Dominique-gender?

Girls. One of my doms was light, she scared me too! I love my doms.

I think they are both girls. I have barred rocks that look just like this, except I'm pretty sure at least one is a rooster because he has started crowing. The only difference i see, is my chicks have WAY bigger combs and they are just 10 weeks old. The one i thought was a girl is the one I think is crowing and the one i thought was a boy hasn't crowed at all... WHO KNOWS!!

I am guessing she was just a super early comb bloomer then LOL. that comb was the same size and bright red from about 9-10 weeks. it hasn't changed since. (she is a dominique, not a barred rock to anyone wondering)... so I thought for sure we had a rooster on our hands. But Melon is super sweet and friendly and I can't wait to see what happens next haha. I NEED to see an egg!

Well, Melon is now 22 weeks old and LAYING EGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah!!!

Great!...I just saw the pic and was going to say pullet...but obviously she is a pullet!!! congrats!

YEP! Pullet, and a VERY sweet one at that probably the sweetest out of all the new ones that we got this year
