13 week Vaulted Silkie

Don’t know till they crow or lay an egg!

I called one Roxanne, who crowed very nicely one day…. Rocky? Hahaha - had to keep calling him Roxanne as he knew that name. I would have bet money it was a pullet!
I know its killing me. I want to move them outside but I dont want to until I order their legbands...and I cant order bands without knowing gender because I color code 😅

Oh, my! She IS splendid! Love her coloring!
I got her from a lady who said she didn’t fit with her few hens, and would always go broody…. Got her way back in February. She pretty much laid an egg a day for almost 5 months before she went broody hahaha.

I would love to get her sitting on eggs but with my luck I would get all Roos! Like MariBell I would be left wondering for months! Getting attached and then have a bunch of Roos running around 😊

You must have quite a few silkies! I only have the four. You should post some more photos ❤️
We have 4 including the two questionable ones. the other two I have are PingPong and Popcorn 🍿 😋. I posted them a while ago when I was questioning their genders. PingPong is a roo and Popcorn is a pullet.

We have a satin silkie roo, but we're going to try and rehome him. hes very aggressive.
I sure hope Boba (blue) and Beluga (black) are pullets that will make me feel so less heartbroken on rehoming

This is my first vaulted silkie and its incredibly hard for me to find any streamers because of the head poof.

I already have 3 roosters and am hoping for a hen especially this one. They're housed with a 10 week barnvelder at the moment and Ive noticed no rooish traits so far. I know its hard to tell for silkies but if anyone has any vaulted ones id appreciate to see your Roos vs Pullets to help.
This is definitely looking like a pullet
This one I'm not 100% on but I don't see any prominent hackle or saddle feathers from the neck or tail. Streamers are also not showing a whole lot. Another thing you would be seeing in a silkie rooster at 15 weeks would be a much bigger comb. There's a chance you have two pullets on your hands but continue posting updates and pictures so we can see if anything changes. 🙂
