13th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

I candled last night and removed 7 eggs ......(and set 7 more). 6 of the rainbow eggs I bought and one turkey egg.

Ordered a Borotto 49 incubator last night too. So more room is on the way.

Question.... For bantam eggs, do you still lockdown at day 18??? I'm confused because I see a lot of people saying they hatch at 18.

I like to candle them at day 16 and/or 17. If they've started pipping into the air cell, I move them into lockdown.

I don't know what Bridgerton is, but I give mine theme names grouped by breed usually. I am not good at thinking of names and having a theme helps.

This you can have a lot themes.. plant names, names after favourites Tv shows, greek gods theme..

Chickaletta was off her eggs this morning, possibly for a few hours while I was out she left her nest and sat on another egg! Her eggs felt cold when I put her back on them, do you think they'll be ok!!!??? First time I've bought shipped eggs and all were developing when I candled a couple days ago.

I hope she stays on the eggs!

I'll move the chicken eggs to lockdown early then crank the incubator temp way up. That should make the ducks hatch in time.
I'm pretty sure that'll work.

I set my eggs rather late, so I still haven't candled them. Waiting impatiently.

I missed it….what eggs did you go with? What incubator are you using?
