15 week old BR, roo or pullet?

Hi there and welcome to BYC! :frow

I agree this one is a pullet! They often turn red about 1 month before onset of lay.

I've had BR start laying at about 18 weeks, this time of year, with daylight hours being many. Also as late as 24 weeks from the same batch.

See how pointy male saddle feathers are, usually well by 16 weeks..

Regarding the double wide barring.. that information is accurate that boys get a double dose of the barring gene from their dame. However I have seen some awfully wide white bars on hatchery stock.. and question at least one if not both of those tails in the background of this pic (I copied and pasted from the OP) if not just as an example of how barring can be slightly subjective and partly dependent on breeding quality.

Yep, you're all set. No sign of male saddle feathers - it didn't look like it (and, as others have said, she has no sign of male-pattern barring), but that is a lot of comb so figured it was worth a look.

Enjoy the soon-to-come eggs!
