$150,000 What To Do

Deerman, I admire your depth of character. I would take that trip that I had always wanted to take with or without family. I would then spend the remainder of my time with my family. Just be careful of those redheads.

I really don't have any other ideas that haven't been suggested to you already......kids and grandkids would be foremost in my mind. I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts.....my mom has been fighting 4 different kinds of cancer for the last almost 17 years....she never thought she'd live to see the rest of her grandkids born let alone the 6 great-grandkids she's got now. Keep on fighting....

If you do leave a trust fund for your grandchildren, find a good person to be the executor (I don't know if that's the right word). My husband is the executor of his 8 nieces and nephews and they are all lobbying to get their money before 21 (which is how the trust was set up...) - there was a reason their dad said 21! They all want it for things like cars - the 16 year old wanted to take 10K out for a truck!

You know I'm praying for you often, dear Burt. Please don't hesitate to share with me how I can help. I think of the way I'd feel in your feathers, and I think you have a wonderful outlook and have a depth of character I wouldn't have right now...I'd be whiny and angry.

Make a list of the things you want to do while you feel good. Keep it in your pocket. Add to it. Prioritize it.

Get up in the middle of the night and go smell the dark. Breathe it in and let the stars and quiet guide you in what you have forgotten you dreamed of when you were younger.

Praying you'll feel good for a LONG time!

Wow.... 4 different kinds? That's intense. 17 years to be blessed with all those grand and great-grandchildren...how awesome is that?

Yep...she's had 5 bouts. Colon, lung, breast, skin and then breast again this past summer. She's a tough lady who's never given up.

Easy answer for me... I'd make the move to Hawaii with my daughter. It wouldn't cost THAT much, but if I had about $20,000 that's what I'd do with it.
