I know I am, the red meat, eggs and bacon, saturated fats, is bad for you myth, is finally getting some real scientific studies done. The human body, naturally produces cholesterol. What most of the doctors don't understand or are unwilling to accept from their formal teaching is, the large size lipoproteins are good, it's the small particle lipoproteins that are bad and cause the trouble of blocked arteries. Due to the AHA, and the AMA's practice of accepting "donations" from the big food manufactures, ie, General Mills, Kellogg, Proctor&Gamble, etc...and big pharma, they feel they have to go along with the decades long propaganda that had been put out by those institutions.AFAIK anything under 1200 calories puts your body into starvation mode and can make you choose carbs for volume over fats at a calorie-counting cost. People are proving great health & wellness benefits when it’s the other way around.
If you look hard enough you might find a facility with a machine that measures your individual metabolism through your breath. That’s a great place to start.
Giving a prescription for cholesterol lowering medicine, blood pressure medication, etc, etc, is a windfall for big pharma and for the manufactures of the high carb, sugar products getting doc's to promote a healthy diet of carbs, ie, whole wheat bread, rice, etc, instead of promoting 'whole foods', they are promoting processed foods.
I know now if I eat any kind of carbs or any kind of sugars, (even natural sugars) my body let's me know right away. Through my past eating habits, I became T2D. I have reversed it by going strict carnivore but if I do consume any amount of carbs or sugar, the symptoms return immediately.
Carnivore diet isn't for everyone but it certainly has change my life....for the better.
I probably don't need more than 1,500 calories a day even considered how much exercise I get. (I walk and row daily.) So if I eat more than 1,100 calories, it would take a year to lose 10 pounds!
After the withdrawal from the carbs and sugar past, (head aches, muscle aches), I feel much better and don't crave the carbs or sugar. I eat enough to be comfortably full, then I take a nap!
