16th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

Pics
My first buff, finally! I was so excited I couldn't wait to look it over and the incubator was all fogged up so I stole her out of there. Bad no-no but I couldn't help myself! I've had fertility issues and have tossed dozens of their eggs so switched in a lemon cuckoo roo several weeks ago and bingo, got just one, but so tickled!

Oh, several other ones hatched too in this batch. I registered with two batches for this hatchalong, five days apart.

I used to take chicks out as they hatched. No problem. :)
Is this a silkie?
I hatched a nice buffet silkie.
Glad you got one. :) Sure miss hatching. Miss chickens. :)
A neighbor has some. I get to enjoy the egg song from over there. And, someone nearby has a rooster. 🥰

Yes, it's a silkie. That's all I have here.

Yours are so gorgeous! Well, at least you aren't far from chickens when your neighbor raises them. That's sort of like I wanted a horse, but we really didn't have enough acreage, then the gal who bought the farm across the road brought her 5-6 horses. So I see and hear them most every day.

Due to a snafu with the temperature gauge, mine haven't hatched yet, it's day 23. I lost some in egg today that were alive this morning, and I really wanted these particular ones. :.(
I have pips, and heard peeping in the ones still alive, so should be tonight sometime.
Aww, I sure hope so. Sorry for the ones you lost. :hugs

Im so sorry :( Im on day 20... I had three eggs I really hoped would hatch: two Olive Eggers and one Easter Egger. I wasn't too invested in the Copper Marans, and the two White Leghorns weren’t my top picks either. I ordered a mixed batch and was hoping to avoid RIRs or Leghorns... but here we are.

As of this morning, only one White Leghorn (or so I think it is, I ordered a mixed bag...) has pipped. Based on my candling of my 6 eggs, things look a bit grim. But ill let them keep working! and will keep you in my thoughts that the rest hatch tonight!
