1st egg

One of my recent chicks hatched in August laid her 1st egg bonus it's green!! small but cute!!
I though it would be spring before they laid because they were late chicks!!!

I was mistaken on who laid this pretty green egg it was the othe chick splash here she is.. I wanted to give credit where credit is due...

She also has laid 3 times this week!! . I could be wrong and the 2 of them are laying! Does any one know if these girls could both be laying green eggs?

They could both be laying green...it's hard to tell unless you catch them in the act.

You could check their pelvic points, which may or may not tell the tale as they both could be close to lay.

2 bony points on either side of vent:
Less than 2 fingertip widths apart usually means not laying.
More than 2 fingertip widths apart usually means laying.

No need to check I caught her laying this morning..but the gray one is close as her vent is nice and pink/ moist
So we'll just have to wait and watch to see what color she lays!

Does any one know if these girls could both be laying green eggs?

As both appear to be Easter Eggers, or at least have some Easter Egger in them, yes they may both be green egg layers.
