Update! Last date I saw some yellow in the sac so presumed internal pip! This morning I can hear tapping so hears hoping! Thanks for the advice will let you know how it all goes!

How’s it going now?
Both of mine hatched, yesterday and today, with assistance, because they both pipped the wrong end. I think that’s why the air cell drew down so weirdly.
Hold the egg to your cheek and get a sense of exactly where the tapping is happening. Might help you figure out where it will pip.

Well,after 24 hours of hearing tapping and no sign of an external mark at all I have made a tiny hole in the top of the egg into the air sac. I’m still not sure which way up he is. I’m listening with a stethoscope(ex-nurse) and I think I can hear breathing sounds and occasional whistles.
My grandchildren are coming for the weekend tonight and whilst they will be sooo excited, I’m really worried that this little one won’t make it!
Gonna spend some time trying to see where he is today and maybe remove some more shell to see if i see a beak?

Ok so after making the hole, 24 hours later we have an external pip but at the wrong end! How much longer do I leave it, already left it 24 hours since external pip. ?
