Our Vet exchanged a series of emails today with Dr Speer & he also looked @ Mama’s X-ray.

Per Speer’s recommendation we just came back from the Vet where they administered:
SubQ fluids
Lactulose
Pain Med

We are to continue with the 10 ML of water and then we’ll take Mama back to the Vet tomorrow & she will spend the day there. They’ll continue SubQ fluids, pain meds & the stool softener while trying to force feed some pellet mash. Marilla will also be able to spend some time swimming in their little pool.

Another med may be added @ some point in the event they decide there might be a bacterial infection.

Short of her intestine rupturing she should be able to pull through this.
We are most definitely praying for a full & complete recovery!!

Thank you so much for the referral @casportpony! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you to @Miss Lydia, @Kiwibird & everyone else who’s been walking along with us on this journey. It’s scary but I am so grateful we have all of you supporting us!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Now that treatment plan sounds like a good one! :bow I am so happy your vet was willing and able to consult with Dr. Speer. :fl hope she starts feeling better soon. :hugs

We had never met this vet until yesterday, we take our pup to a different one, and she was overwhelmed when she saw Mama’s X-ray. She told me this morning she spent much of last night researching blockages because she just didn’t know what to do.

When I mentioned Dr Speer she was grateful to have a resource to reach out too. I am so grateful she was willing too & I am also grateful Dr Speer was willing to help out. From what she said Dr Speer wasn’t shocked by Marilla’s
X-ray & that gave her some extra peace of mind. It’s a blessing all the way around.

Thank you again for the referral & all of the advice! I truly appreciate it!! ❤️❤️❤️
