Sounds like the beginning of a joke but seriously 2 chickens wondered Into my yard and won't leave. I've been feeding them but they are not in the run/coop with my girls. I'm considering adding them to the coop but don't want to unbalance the harmony to my current girls. I am curious on what type of chickens they are. Anyone have any ideas? They are really small compared to my girls so I'm thinking some bantam breed.

They are mixed breeds. About 2-3 months old. Probably Brahma mixes because of the Pea comb and feathered legs. I think they are boys.

I agree, they’re likely mixed breeds. I think the red one is definitely a cockerel, but I can’t tell on the black one. Poor things are missing so many feathers! If you want to keep them I’d put them in a separate coop from your girls for now, just in case they’re carrying any diseases or anything. And if they are both cockerels, as they get older they may fight amongst themselves for the hens.

If I were in a similar situation, I’d catch them and quarantine for about 4 weeks. Then, I’d begin introducing them to my flock. They‘re at risk of being killed by a predator, since they’re out there alone roaming around. I hope things work out for them. 🙂
