Thank you everyone for all the lovely comments!
For the roof.. I took some more pictures to give you a better idea..
From the inside...
A little more on the roof today... I'm thinking it will be done by the weekend.. and we will post the final photos for you then!
Some other photos..
The cute little white picket fence is *hopefully* going to hold some of the shavings up there. The metal rods from the picket fence are soon to be sawed off... but the base of the rods will be great to hold the fence in place on the shelf with the holes drilled for them!
In the corner here we are going to have the nestboxes... nestboxes coming soon....
Well.. we are having such a ramp dilema! The original plan was to come forward with it... but when we held the boards up from where our shelf edge is.. it would have been waaay too steep for the silkies
... So then, in the middle of the night, we just threw this arrangement up there with a few nails. The plan is to re-work it.. but how? We need something that doesen't take up all the room and is practical for the silkies and bantams to climb. Does anyone have any ideas for us?
Whatever we make to substitute this.. we are going to make use of some rubber matting stuff for their feet. Erin laughed at me when I explained that BYC'ers have said that silkies seem to have delicate feet. "Your poor chickens have delicate toesies!"...
Lazy coop builder that is working all week!
I still stand by my assertion that this is a 2 day coop!
