Not without deforming both eggs. Only one egg can fit into the shell gland, and then it's a long process to finish the egg. I can see how a chicken could lay 2 in 1 day, if 1 or both are soft shelled or rubber eggs, because neither spent enough time in the shell gland. But the problem with that theory is, the ovaries don't release another yolk ovum until after an egg is layed. Double yolkers drop 2 yolks at the same time, resulting in 1 egg. If they dropped hours apart, once the second yolk reached the shell gland it would probably cause an egg within an egg type scenario, but not 2 seperate eggs.It just doesn't seem like there's room for 2 shelled eggs in there:
