2 week old cayuga ducks -EMERGENCY-

Yes there bedding stays dry and clean. We clean it about twice a day and make sure they have fresh water and food to eat and drink throughout the day. We use the heat lamp on them when they get out of there little pool so they can stay warm till they dry off but recently have not been using it because its been so hot outside and from what I've read they don't need it anymore. And we also heat their pool water up before putting them in so they haven't been in any cold water. The one duckling is still holding on but barely. She or he keeps falling to the side then starts like spazzing out. Im feeding her water out of syringe and some food but im not sure what more we can do.

Give it straight just a drop at a time. If it's not almost gone, you don't want to cause it to aspirate. If she can't hold her head up it might be too risky but you make that decision since your there. If you think you can get her to swallow.

Yes please let us know what’s going on. Sure hope this little one comes round and the others will be okay.
I believe that the second one isnt going to make it.. i had them in the pool and a noticed a third one acting strange. Its smaller than the others but it wasnt extending its neck or playing like the others. It was knocked off balance by one of the others and looked like it seized so i pulled it out and had the fiance feed it the vitamins. It doesn't have good balance at all thats the first symptom. Do you believe its still from the vitamin deficiency?

:welcome
I am sorry about your duck babies that is very sad. I would listen to the wonderful advice you are given here. I am fortunate enough to have had help from this forum when my little duckling was struggling. Mine made it and I hope you have the same outcome. B Complex will forever be on hand at my house!

It doesn’t sound like anything else could be the cause they have been where they couldn’t get into anything toxic. Unless you take them to the vet and get necropsy done on the ones that have died you have to try with what you have. Get the liquid b complex started and hope that is what it is because if caught early they come back pretty quick. I wish I had more answers for you. Your sure they aren’t getting chilled in the pool? Just bouncing things around now.

Yeah the other ducks loved it. I guess im just worried because it was one after another that got sick. Thank you again i will continue them all on the vitamins
