I be had chickens for eggs for 5 yrs, raised chicks minimal problems. I got an order of 17 birds 15 Cornish x and two layers. I lost one from shipping stress. I lost number two a few days later from similar despite my best efforts. Number three died few days ago appeared to be failure to thrive. I've had them in a brooder in basement like 5 x4 ish with red lamp, waterer changed daily and meat bird feed. The remaining birds are growing like monsters and the other day I brought them outside first time. It was 80's outside. They loved it. I noticed that day, they were sneezing. I've been watching them and today's third day outside during the day. I am noticing sneezing persists, no discharge, lethargy etc. now I noted small amt blood in stool in one or two stools in their area.

I have opted to get meat birds vaccinated for coccidiosis at hatchery but don't know if they vaccinated my free exotic chick and the layer I added on to the order last minute as I don't remember them asking me. I assumed they would vaccinate them too.

Thought? I'm nervous as I've never ran into this many losses.
Oh and I have been using act and fermented feed too not 100% of the time but regularly.

I would treat them for coccidiosis if you saw blood. The sneezing isn't anything wrong by itself. If they have a runny nose or eyes and sneezing then it would need more attention. Treat the coccidiosis fast.

I'm really discouraged. They continue to sneeze without other symptoms and they remain active and ravenous . I thought I'd see if the blood in the poo was my imagination so I checked them tonight. No change but it seems the sneezing picked up . There was one small stool noticed in the brooder Could it be intestine lining shed maybe. It isn't everywhere and quite minimal.

What do I pick up at the grain store? They are meat birds for sneeze n slight amt blood in stool????

Problem is most symptoms can be vague and point to many things. Shedding intestinal lining is possible.
I wonder if you can move them out into a pen or something that has better ventilation. Mine go out at 3 weeks with a heat lamp.

We just finished their coop. It's ready when they are but I thought I'd wait a few more days so I can watch them a little more closely with these ? Symptoms.... What would you do?
I'm not sure it's ventilation or not but I clean the shavings a few times a wk and add in between. It's pretty clean in there....well for chickens that crap all over!!

I think the main thing is do they look sick to you? If they had coccidiosis or a respiratory ailment, they would behave like they're sick. If not, they should be good to be less checked on.

I'm really just hoping that I'm being paranoid. You wouldn't mind but I'm a nurse so I'm not new to illness. Although when it's your own no matter if it's child or animal you almost lose your sense of what's normal and what's not. All of your medical training kind of goes out the window.

YOU are right about that!!!!! Being a nurse doesn't prevent paranoia, OCD, or denial.
What helps me is the flock history, and how they behave. You will see a lot of times their poo looks like they may have some really bad illness, but if they are happy and acting normal, chances are it's just one of the 15 types of poos they have every day. It's good you notice when something is not right. I think that's the important thing. Oh, and also always start simple in thinking what it could be.
