2+ yr old Chickens have never molted in 2+ years. Is this normal? I have 6 hens.

I have 6 hens. 4 are 2+ yrs old and only one has fully molted and she did that in winter!!. 2 are about 9 mos. Aren't they supposed to molt every year?

Some birds shed a few feathers at a time, instead of most all at once. Have you ever seen what seems like more than usual feathers in the coop or run?

Once. And then one hen did a full molt. We find a feather here and there but not a bunch.

I have had numerous chickens do a "soft molt" the first time and heavier molts in the following years.
A soft molt is often missed as they don't get scruffy looking.

Some birds will have a mini-molt where you will hardly notice anything but a few pin feathers around the head.
