Hi All!
I have a 2yr old healthy roo-eating, running, drinking, jumping. About 2 days ago, I noticed in the mornings only- he will have about two stools with blood in them. The rest of the day they are normal stools. No other symptoms. No other chickens affected. Knock on wood, no issues ever with coccidosis. I do have some Corid on hand and antibiotics. Should I start a treatment of something?? Thanks!

A picture of the dropping might be helpful. Worms can also cause some blood in the dropping. It could also be some intestinal shed, especially if it looks like tomato in the poop. If he has not been wormed recently, either Valbazen or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer is very safe and good. Cranberries have been known to cause red droppings as well. When in doubt, Corid is pretty safe.

I have some Safeguard arriving tomorrow. I'll use that for a few days, his Vet isn't back until Sept 6th, so I can probably have them do a fecal sample if it's still happening after the deworming. Thank you!

Do you have any idea how much he weighs? The dosage for 10% fenbendazole or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer is 0.23 ml (about 1/4 ml) per POUND of weight given for 5 consecutive days. That treats round, cecal, gape, and capillary worms. Be sure to shake the bottle well and use a syringe to draw it up.

I bought the poultry one, not the goat one. So I think the instructions are on the package on how to add it to their water? I have a 2 gallon plastic waterer and 3 gallon metal waterer.

Oh no, if you got the Aquasol, that one only treats round worms and the dosage is very difficult to understand. I prefer the Liquid Goat Wormer or the horse paste which are 10% strength. Those are given orally not diluted in water.

Oh no. OK I'll get whatever you suggest. What's the dose for the goat or horse paste??? I'll see if my Tractor Supply has it.
