I have 2 Bantam eggs and one has has pipped and made a hole to breathe and that it is. No other progress has been made. I can see the beak but the area around the hole has turned brown and is dry. Does this chick need help? She's rocking back and forth and chirping, but no zipping.

Can someone help me?

The chick is probably just soaking up the rest of the yolk and blood and will zip soon. If you want, peel off a little shell but don't damage the membrane underneath. I might wait another hour before helping though. Let me know how it goes!

I was going to give her until noon to see if I should help her. I dont want to lose her. :(

I'm in a different time zone than you so I don't know how long that would be. You could peel of a little shell right now, just try not to damage the membrane. Also note if it is thin and clear or thick and white.

Im Central Time, so its about to be 11am. I took a bit of the shell of without damaging the membrane underneath and its thick and white. Good or bad? The humidity is at 65%.

No problem! Keep me updated! I'd love to see pictures when the chick hatches.

She's picked at the egg some more but the outer membrane is starting to turn kinda see through.
