We're nearly running on empty in the snow department this year. About 20 inches behind our annual amount in fact. But last year! OMGoodness! Last year at this time we were piled under 6+ FEET total snow accumulation by this point.

So, with just a little dusting that fell last night, the girls are taking everything in their stride. I think I detect a sense of relief in the older, more experienced girls, that this year is nowhere near as bad as last year. Do you have any idea of just how hard it is to keep 6+ feet of snow cleared from driveways, walkways, porches, pathways to coops and everywhere else?

I really, and I do mean really love snow! But, 6+ feet in less than one month is a bit much for even the most enthusiastic lover of snow. Those of you who have received the 20+ inches of snow certainly have my sympathies. I know what that's like! Ooooh do I ever!!

Which Part, the snow, or the not feeding them? I didn't say that someone else didn't feed them. My brother did it, and the roos are none the worse for wear, thank you.

Had to laugh at our chickens. With 24 inches of snow it did take a bit of time to get to the coop, once the pop door was open they came running to the door, stuck their heads out 1 by 1, saw the scary white stuff and turned around heading back inside the coop.

The ducks and guineas didn't seem to have the same fear.

both parts actually! lol
first that you had 16' (notice the ' instead of the ") and secondly, of course I was under the assumption that you couldnt feed them so they didnt get fed...since you didnt clarify that someone else did. But what fun eh? No need for the personal offense!

we had 14 inchs ... and this is as far out in the snow I could get them! AND that was only with some treats in hand! You can see Rooty in the back ... peeking over the hens! He was coming out in the snow for any kind of treat!
