2009 Quilt block of the month - February

Skand, that block combination is really lovely and striking. I have you for my second block I think. Sometimes working with Triangles can be a bit tricky, however I am sure you will get the hang of it. I didn't want you to think I was overly critical of it, to me it just looked like you hadn't trimmed the points on them is all.

I thought the pattern awesome looking too. Sorry, not a lovely word user lol
I wasn't thinking anyone was being overly critical. I'm a worrywort, and knew something I was doing was wrong, just wasnt sure if it was one of those patterns that looks better as a digitally remastered picture, then as an actual fabric block. I'll be darn tootin happy when I get anybody's blocks. To me, I'm learning, and will always be afraid of powers beyond my control, like a sewing machine. I cannot, nor will I even try to learn to sew by hand. Thanks again for all the constructive critisism, it is a major part of learning. Now, if you were telling me it looks like garbage, then of course, I wouldnt thank you for that! lol

I went to JoAnnes, they have a Huskyvarnay, (I thought thier chainsaws were expensive) compare at 6000, on sale refurbished for 2000, I dont think so. That thing better do a whole lot more than sew fancy letters and such.

One of the ladies' blogs that I follow just got the Brother from Walmart that runs around $139. she collects sewing machines and got this one for the decorative stitching it can do. She loves it and says it performs way over what she expected for $139.

HTH for those looking for an affordable machine.

We have a Husquavarna dealer here in Louisville, and I went to a demonstration two years ago of their then newest machine, it was close to $10,000.00 in price but it came with all the bells and whistles including all the patterns they had ever produced.

I have a Brother machine, and it has several decorative stiches built into it. I really like it, great for most sewing projects, however I want to get one that also embroiders and I want to get a serger machine as well.

Then I will get a long arm quilter too.

I have a Brother, the top machine that doesn't have the embroidery program. Didn't want it. The machine does everything but make coffee. Even threads the needle and cuts the thread. Nice working auto tension.

People make quilts for the babies in my unit. Of course I examine them. I am astonished with the quality of the blocks-everything precise. Then they tie yarn at every block corner, which I never thought of, but now I do, I think I will do it next time. Makes for a real soft quilt.
I have a king size quilt in 3 pieces due to the bulk. One section is finished, one is half finished, and one is not finished. Most of it is stitch in the ditch. Is anyone out there interested in finishing it (not for free)?

I sure hope this works. I found these on goggle. And to think I washed my rag quilt when all I had to do was tape to the drive way and get the weed eater out!!!!!!!!!!!!

The post said not to use a gas weed eater and it only takes about 10 minutes to do a quilt. How much fun would the hens have with all the little threads (surely it would not be good for them) Only in Texas what can I say

Okay, thats just funny!
Sad part is, now she has to take it inside and wash it anyways, just to get the dirt n crud outta it that she picked up off the driveway... as in, never seen a clean driveway ever, esp in Tx, home of the dirtway.... lol Go slow when you pull into someones drive, you'll make a dust cloud!
Notice, she took her shoes off first! or are those slippers?
