2009 Quilt block of the month - February

When you all talk about Hancock's, are you talking about Hancock's of Padukah? If not I love that 2nd site.

For those who are looking at Brother machines, I had a Brother and a White, both around 100 bucks and I loved them both. Then I got a Brother that had more stuff on it.

I really like that! Very 'Edward Gorey" : A is for Amy who fell down the stairs; B is for Basil assaulted by bears....C....you gotta check it out. The Ghastly Crumb Tinies by Edward Gorey.

Maybe your kid was studying him?!

I'll have to check that out - I'm really not a poetry person so this one took me by surprise for sure, I was amazed he thought up all that and even included a line to exuse his bad handwriting

Very Shel Silversteinish too.

Was at the mom-in-laws today and she is making me a table runner, think I have her sweet talked into letting me use her machine...
It makes doilies that look like they have been hand crocheted. She thinks its cool I'm doing this.

I made PANTS today, we all got a new pair of nice snuggly fleece pants - of couse the kids ones were worn already and are full of hay - they were climbing on the hay bales this afternoon.

I just squeeked out enough out of the fabric I bought - 5 yards of fleece and I made my hubby a pair, me a pair and my son a pair... my daughter got a pair made out of an old fleece blanket (hello kitty) I bought 3 yards of flannel for some more for ME ME ME! (I never make stuff for myself) anyway - not bad for $37, 3 pairs of fleece pants, and I'm thinking I'll get at least 2 pairs out of the 3 yards of flannel.

My sewing room is a MESS

I used three different patterns, one for the kids, and one for each hubby and I - I'll look at which they were - the kids ones were based on a quick-sew PJ set I believe. Mine are mens

worked just fine, I did have to make the legs a little narrower, I don't like baggy pants
